[username]\Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2\Downloads

Bear in mind that most downloads come in Winrar-format so you'll have to extract them first.

Hi, thanks for the reply. I actually don't have that path: EA Games\The Sims 2 at least not the base game, they are all expansion packs like EA Games\Univerisity EA Games\Seasons EA Games\Mansions and Gardens etc etc
Though I checked through Program Files, not Documents as you indicated.
And yes, I extracted them. They are in .package format.

Hello,

Make sure at first that you are actually looking in the right folder location. It should be C:\Users\(your username)*\Documents\EA GAMES\The Sims 2\Downloads. Where it says "your username" in the path I just wrote out, put whatever username you set up when installing Windows on that computer.

Beyond that, the issue of custom content in The Sims 2 is a bit more complex I'm afraid. A good starting point to learn about it, can be found here:
https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t24192-the-sims-2-custom-content-part-i-preparation

At the end of the guide there is a link to a "part 2", and that other guide in turn has a link to "part 3". I strongly suggest you take your time to read through all 3 parts.

Great, thanks! After the first reply, I checked the correct folder and after some more in-game tweaking, I was able to get some of them to show up but unfortunately not all. I'll give that guide a read though. Thank you all!

As said in those guides, you have to read up carefully on your download sources on what exactly the CC does. If for example you are trying to add CC to the game which are recolored versions of existing EA/Maxis items, then simply putting them into the Downloads-folder doesn't work. You will need the so-called "Color Enabler Package" (see part I of the guide).
