Sims 3 "Mods > Packages" Problem [SOLVED]

I downloaded some Sims 3 CC and it was .package files, I installed them in the Mods\Packages folder. They work fine, but now my game is incredibly slow to load, and during game play it lags terribly. What can I do to speed my game back up?
Also, I cannot find the apartment mailbox, does anyone know where it is?
