Sims 3 base game problem

hi.. i've installed the sims 3 base game and now i want to install the sims 3 pet. but every time i try, it can't update. so, i've downloaded the sims 3 patch, the 861mb. tried updating it, it says no sims 3 installed. i also tried the sims 3 all fix but i cannot download the sims 3 pets from the link u guys provided since piratebay is blocked here. can someone help me please?

yep it is...i can play the base game just fine. i used the crack from the ultimate fix, and my launcher crashes. without using the crack the base game works fine.

How did it go with the update? The fix only works with game version 1.29, you may want to make sure your base game is that version.

it wont update... ah...i see...my base game is still 1.0.615 i think. i tied updating through the launcher but it says my game is already updated. what do i do now?

hi, thanks for responding so fast. i've tried that patch. when i did, it says i need to have a sims 3 or a previous version of it installed...or something of that nature. i already have the sims 3 installed on the computer but the patch wont work

Did you try the patch as part of the fix? Its possible that your base game isn't recognized because it has been cracked. The fix solves that issue because it has the original game files the patch needs to be compatible.

in the ultimate fix, it says i have to download the sims 3 pets from the link. but i cant download from piratebay cos i think its blocked. i tried using the fix for the base game without installing the sims 3 pets as according to the 2nd step but my launcher just crashes. i tried the patch too, says the same thing, no sims 3 installed

Hello,
The fix will probably work with the Pets version you have. The fix doesn't work with just the base game because the crack is incompatible. Here's what you do:
Open the fix and go to the folder called base game, and copy the 2 files in that folder to C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Game\Bin.
Download and use the manual patch, it should work.
Now, install Pets. Since your game is now version 1.29, you shouldn't be prompted to patch the game prior to installing this expansionpack.
After it finishes installing, go to the fix again and this time, copy the 2 files from the #crack folder to the same folder you copied files to before. You should get asked if you want to replace this with that, click yes.

tried that... the patch won't work. still saying the setup has detected that no version of the sims 3 is installed... what do i do now?

Ah, that explains everything. Those DVD's sold in shops are modified 9 out of 10 times, which means your PC won't recognize them as a separate (The Sims 3) game. You'll need to uninstall the version you have now and install a non-modified version of the game.
All ® Games4theworld versions of The Sims 3 are non-modified.
