Incompatibility with Windows. Empty Incompatibility with Windows.

Post by Guest Sat 21 Oct 2017, 21:25

Hey! Recently I updated my windows 10 and now the sims wont open, what can I do? I put all the files in my antivirus exception list and also in the windows defender exceptions, but it doesnt work. I tried to use the "troubleshooting program compatibility problems" and it says something like "compatibility mode: windows 8", wich is weird cause i've always had windows 10 (?

Hi @unpredictalble ,

Have you tried running the game as administrator as well? Are there any other errors apart from it not opening at all?

@unpredictalble,

Don't forget you can re-download the No-Origin files from the post here:
https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t23706-latest-available-no-origin-files-for-the-sims-4-version-1-33-38-1020

In case you suspect that the Windows system (Windows Defender) may have deleted/damaged them. Smile

@Ageha yes I tried! And when I select "yes" on the pop up message that says "Do you want to allow this application from an unknown advertiser to change on the device?" nothing happens  WhatDidUJustCallMe?

//EDIT

@The_gh0stm4n does that work if I had all the dlc's including toddlers?

Hi,

Yes, you can place the no origin files safely to your game. Also, make sure that the Sims 4 is not running in Task Manager as well.

It's false positive actually and I think Chrome is more 'persistent' in detecting crack files. If you have any other browsers, FireFox or IE, try using that instead. I think you can turn off the 'security' under Chrome settings, but I don't really recommend that unless you know what you're downloading in future (trusted sources, safe downloads etc).
EDIT:
Ah yes, I tried downloading it as well and this is the first time I'm having this alert. I managed to keep the download by opening the Downloads tab in Chrome and choose to keep it anyway option. So far, there's nothing wrong with the download but I'll check with The_gh0stm4n and see if there's anything 'malicious' with the files.

Somebody might have reported the download and/or site as "dangerous" and browsers do not check if that's true.

Hey!
Good news! Yes indeed like Polarbear had stated. I was just on the more wary side since I didn't got alerted before. Lol.

But The_gh0stm4n had already confirmed that the downloads are safe and perhaps chrome is trying to block copyrighted materials. Quoted from him:
Probably Chrome trying to "protect copyright-holders". If Chrome doesn't
allow you to actually save the file after downloading, press CTRL + J,
and then look for the download. Look for an option named "keep anyway"
or something similar.
Hope that helps you with downloading the files. (:

The cloud.mail.ru used to work, and you could bypass the warning and fetch the file. Now you can only fetch the file if you are the owner of it, and if you log into the account. I'll try coming up with more mirrors later and maybe also a torrent for that.

If we are already so "far" that (hostile) Forum visitors or users keep reporting those public links, then I say bring it on - we'll switch to using torrents more often then. Even for smaller items.

Edit: Mirror 2 removed.

I had simular experiences with a dutch based cloud.
All downloads were inaccessible for outsiders, only I, as owner,  could download

@unpredictalble

Hey,

You can change the language in RldOrigin.ini. If you can't save it or it gives you error, just right - click on the file ->Properties -> Uncheck Read-Only and click Apply.
