I have lots of baldies in game. [SOLVED]

Hi there, hope you can give me some advice. My game updated via ZL Origin, took ages with a download speed of 10kb/ second.  ( Afrika, we struggle )
Just before that update I changed the appearance of quite a number of existing families, from skin tone to hair and clothing. I refurnished and re-painted, floored all their houses, gardens etc. For instance the terrible dark Goth Manor is now light, warm and beautiful. BUT, after I re-activated custom content, all my sims are bald, they wear either that horrible pink bra and pantie, or the black briefs, the males. I went into cas, everything is there and I can start the long and tedious process of dressing them again, Takes ages and I was wondering if there is a quick fix. If I start another safe game, all my house furbishing will be gone. I checked some other saved games in game ( those little pictures ) but the sims in those are also all bald. And in pink bra and panty.
In game some of the townies are also bald, they wear EA clothing with the exception of one male, who is wearing a cc skirt!!!!!!

Any Ideas to speed up the process?

It seems like a mod/CC issue? Or did you perhaps forgot to switch to your ZLOrigin folder in Documents after updating?

I'm assuming you used one of the backups version of the main save? 

PS: I applaud you for actually having the time and 'stamina' to change everything. I  don't even edit my main sims much. LOL 

Well, I have to change those ugly people. The females still are a bit okay, but the males? Ugh. I will never understand why EA chose to make the Vampires so igly. In every movie, book or series they are described as the most beautiful creatures roaming earth.
What happened with that update was the following.
A) took ages, download speed only 5kb/second. ( That's what we have to put up with sometimes.
B) update finished, could log in, no problem. no notification that script and cc was disabled
C) could work on houses, sims looked as I had changed them
D) logged off, went to bed and than work the next day.
E) logged in again and got notification that I had to enable cc and script mods.
F) did that and restarted the game
G) baldies and weirdly dressed creatures in game. All cc is there, all CAS cc is there. everything they wore before the update, hair, makeup, etc is there and I can dress them up again.
But this is tedious and I worry that I will finish, then next update comes along on 11 November. So I was hoping for a quick fix

Hahaha, yeah I understand. It's like they don't really know how to make attractive males. LOL. But without CCs I think the base male hair is limited. 

I think the problem here is that perhaps you did not disable the CCs before you update the game via ZLOrigin? Did running a previous version of the game 'restore' the bald sims? Or rather the bug.

Okay, that is news to me. Should one disable cc before an update? If yes, I will most definitely do so before the November update and proceed with the re-dressing and making attractive task again. Will check another saved game though.

That's also new to me. I was under the impression that TS4 updates (whether on Origin/zlOrigin) don't affect the folder under Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4. I know it was recommended in The Sims 3 back then that you change the folder name under Documents before applying a manual patch.

As for TS4, have you considering cache file clearing? See e.g. this here:

Oh dear, sorry I did not mean to imply that THAT was the cause. LOL. But I read at the official forum (a long time ago) that users had problems with their save files when they did not disable the CCs/Mods before updating. Not sure if that's related however.
 -> As always, this is me grovelling. LOL.

Well, I am in the process of re-dressing the sims. But my game is lagging extremely. Now I want to know is it possible to move only the house to the gallery ( should than be in tray?????? ) and basically start new? moving the "new" families into the refurbished houses? I of course would move the tray folder back into the new game.
I honestly do not want to start that revamping of the houses again. Took ages. even longer than changing of sims.

I do know that you can save your houses to the gallery and then place them again if you decide to bulldoze the lot. Is this what you mean? lol.

Jup, that is exactly what I did. got the revamped houses in new game and new families moving in. Game runs better as well. Thanks for the help.Topic may be closed
