Zoo Tycoon Ultimate collection missing strings.dll

Thank you for the file to download for this game.

But when I move the zt.exe and widescreen applications into my zoo tycoon directory, and try to run from there, it says I am missing the strings.dll, am confused with this and could do with some help.

I assume you used WinRAR for extraction of the .rar archive (download)? Also, are you sure you copied the zt.exe and the zWidescreen.z2f, to the correct location?

By default that should be:
C:\Program files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Zoo Tycoon 2 

Did you also overwrite the existing zt.exe file?

Yeah I put the 2 into the correct directory, but don't actually have a file in there called the zt.exe to actually overwrite, maybe that is a problem? If so, anyway I could go about it?

And this is the error message what comes up when try to run it. Have tried running it in admin mode too if that makes it more clear

I suppose you can try downloading that particular strings.dll file, which I uploaded from my own computer:

Put the file into your Zoo Tycoon 2 directory, and test the game again. But experience shows that in these cases, if there is an error about individual files, something went wrong during the installation. Meaning that the game will still not work, or you get an error about another file being missing or damaged.

But do give it a shot.

Unfortunately does not seem to work either. Doesn't display the error message, but just doesn't load up at all :-/

Yes, like I suspected; please try this.

Download and install G4TW's "Your Uninstaller Pro", which I uploaded here in direct download format:

Install the program according to the included instructions. Open it up. Look for Zoo Tycoon 2 in the main menu, and double-click on it. Choose "Super Mode" when prompted, and proceed with the on-screen instructions.

When finished, please re-boot the computer, and then re-install the game once more.
