ZLOrigin disconnects my internet. [CLOSED]
I have been trying to redownload The Sims 4 through ZLOrigin but every time it will get about 15% through and disconnects the internet. If it happened just once there wouldn't be an issue but every few % it does it over and over again.
It did not do this the first time I had used it. Now that I would like to reinstall it just keeps disconnecting me and I am forced to restart my router in order to get everything working again. Why would this program have an effect on something like this?
Has anyone else had this type of issue and is there a solution or should I just give up hope of ever using ZClient again?

Hello @miseriabello5,
Your "regular" (browser-based) downloads and the torrent downloads are working fine, I assume?

Yes, sir! This is the only program I have ever had an issue with. I have used it before but I messed something up (The game was glitchy so I tried a "repair game" option and everything got ruined), but I have since then realized what was wrong and fixed the problem but now it will not let me redownload the game.

I thought it was installing in directory A but in fact it installed in directory B and consequently there was nothing to Repair or Re-download.
Search your computer for the file ZUpdater32.dll and see where located.

It will not even let me download the game in general so there is no file to locate. It disconnects my internet connection before it ever finishes.

Any answers or suggestions?
Does anyone have any type of suggestions or a possible solution?

Hi there,
How fast is your Internet? Mine disconnects frequently but I know that is because of an atrociously slow internet connection. Takes ages to update etc.

I have never had any issues until I tried to download this game. My internet does not mess up any other time. It is at about 51mbps. There should be no reason for it to just disconnect. I tried to spend an entire day downloading and resetting my router constantly but even after the downloads did not work properly and something went wrong.

Re: ZLOrigin disconnects my internet. [CLOSED]
Have you tried to delete ZLOrigin by opening the folder ZLOrigin in Program Files and clicking unins000.exe ?
Then re-install ZLOrigin.
Then re-install ZLOrigin.

If it's not a state secret to ask (and for you OK to post in public here)...what is your Internet Service Provider? It's not likely, but from reading your first post, I suspected that your ISP could have "tampered" somehow with your internet. See this:

I suppose we could try doing some research, even if we can't come up with a solution immediately.
Another thing I brought up back then: what if we - in theory - downloaded an entire "The Sims 4" folder from zlOrigin, and provided it here as a torrent? And kept up doing so until the end of the game's lifespan? Would such a folder be "usable" for people using zlOrigin? Not that we are (at least at present moment) really willing to go forward with that idea, but just as a thought.

Re: ZLOrigin disconnects my internet. [CLOSED]
When you have ZLOrigin already such a torrent is useless. Every time a new DLC is coming out, you'll have to upload/download over 22 GB again and again. Also downloading from ZLOrigin is just as fast as via a torrent with a lot of seeders. (I download the complete Sims 4 serie in approx 30 minutes from ZLOrigin)The_gh0stm4n wrote:Another thing I brought up back then: what if we - in theory - downloaded an entire "The Sims 4" folder from zlOrigin, and provided it here as a torrent? For those not using ZLOrigin it might be quite useful.
Start f.e. with base upto and incl. Toddler Stuff in 1 download. All problems with changing Game folders, moving out of Electronic Arts and 3 es solved.
I suggest such a download would be in .iso format as extracting such large files with Winrar takes too long. In Windows nowadays you no longer need programs like Daemon or Poweriso to mount an iso.
Before you upload the torrent, change the folder Game from the ZLOrigin version to a cracked version (or add an additional folder Game_cracked).

Well, in this instance the OP and some others don't have zlOrigin, at the end of the day. Regarding these (rare) cases my question was more of a theoretical nature, but yes. I figured so much, that in practice it's probably not going to be worth the effort for us to keep re-uploading large chunks of data.

As I said before, it would be extremely helpfull when there was just 1 torrent for the base game upto and incl. Toddler Stuff. It would solve at least 50% of the questions asked on this forum.The_gh0stm4n wrote:Dandelion wrote:When you have ZLOrigin already such a torrent is useless.

Even 1 torrent for Vampires/Toddlers/Bowling -> Toddler Stuff could solve a lot of problems.
The "must read" guide is (for some people) too complicated.
Sadly, many people don't want to read large amounts of text, they'd rather see it all compressed to 1 emoj, lol.
For the none ZLOrigin users such a download would make sense

Sorry for the (very) belated reply,
We have temporarily turned off the Forum, and we're slowly getting/ trying to get back on track. I'll just post this, in case you are still interested in a possible solution. The reason people use zlOrigin, besides convenience, is to circumvent issues with anti-virus programs - like the dreaded "Origin must be running".
I recall the person who brought up zlOrigin for the first time here mentioning that the actual game files in the zlOrigin are the same as in the legit Origin one. Now, if you really cannot download through the actual zlOrigin servers, what if you tried downloading the G4TW torrents and then used an "original Game folder", that we may upload? Would such a setup be recognized by the zlOrigin installer?
I know this is a hassle, and if you did this you might as well stick to the RELOADED Sims 4 version...but then again, if you needed to bypass anti-virus programs and absolutely must play through zlOrigin, it could be worth a try.
//EDIT

The situation is not necessarily made easier by (well-meaning) people who enable and contribute to modern trends like these, by hand-delivering everything on a silver plate. Not necessarily something bad and after all, more and more people are getting "overwhelmed and frustrated by the hardships of modern life". But then people should not complain that this will have longterm repercussions, even if those effects are not immediately felt. If everything is delivered on a silver plate, why should the average person make any effort whatsoever?

All you have to do is adding the latest Game folder from G4TW to the installation folder of ZLOrigin.
The folder Game will then relate to ZLOrigin and can be updated anytime via ZLOrigin.
The latest Game folder from G4TW should be renamed Game_cracked and from there you can play offline.

Sorry again for the belated reply @miseriabello5,
The plan is that we will be preparing a little 'something', following the release of the Laundry Day Stuffpack, that will hopefully benefit users with comparable difficulties like you are experiencing.
The main reason we are not working now on it is because the new stuffpack is scheduled to come soon. A belated Merry Christmas, I guess.

Re: ZLOrigin disconnects my internet. [CLOSED]
You can easily play the Sims 4 without Zclient/ZLOrigin.
My install folder contains various folders Game
Game, Game_cracked, Game_Origin, Game_ZLOrigin.
The folder Game is only used for updating via Origin or ZLOrigin. As soon as an Origin/ZLOrigin update has been effected, I copy the Bin folder from inside the Game folder to resp. Game_Origon or Game_ZLOrigin.
Game_cracked is used for the pirated games (such as from G4TW) which means that with new DLC's, I copy the folder Game from the downloads to Game_cracked and not to Game
Shortcuts from TS4.exe or TS4_x64.exe from the folders Game_cracked, Game_Origin, Game_ZLorigin allow me to play each version (cracked, Origin, ZLOrigin) from the same install folder.
Via Game_Origin I can use the Gallery and downloaded items are immediately available in my cracked version. I have no shortcuts from the Game\Bin folder itselves.
Consequently when I update via ZLOrigin all files and folders are uptodate and when G4TW comes with a new crack I only need the Game folder to be copied to Game_cracked. I do not have to download a couple of GB from G4TW but only the new Game folder of approx. 50 MB.
Only in those cases where the downloaded version from ZLOrigin is higher than the version of G4TW you will get the error-message of "higher version update via Origin" which can be solved easily by copying the file Default.ini from the updated Game\Bin to Game_cracked\Bin.

Re: ZLOrigin disconnects my internet. [CLOSED]
@miseriabello5, I will be closing the topic now. The 'original plan' that we intended to do, did not work out as we expected, unfortunately. We therefore won't be posting this alternative solution in public. However, what we will be doing instead, is to get back to individual users if need be.
If you are still interested, like I said above, please get in touch with me through the green e-mail button. The PM system has been disabled globally, so you will need to use the e-mail button.
Otherwise, I tried uploading an "original" Game-folder for The Sims 4, here:
https://goo.gl/RBAzN8
Use the (entire) pirated installation folder of The Sims 4: put it wherever your zlOrigin-stuff gets saved, and rename the (cracked) "Game"-subfolder. Place the original one from the download link above, and see if zlOrigin let's you play with this setup. If this setup is not being recognized by zlOrigin, delete again the "Game"-folder, and rollback the cracked one (the one you previously renamed). Then try playing again with the offline/cracked TS4.
Good luck, and I'm sorry we couldn't come up with a better solution for you, due to technical obstacles...
