.exe files not opening

I've installed the base game from PB, it works fine.
I've also downloaded Generations, Pets, and Ambitions from G4TW.
I opened up the Generations Installation Guide and the first step is to open the Sims3EP04Setup.exe , but when I do that, it just turns into an .rar, and when I click on the .rar, it unzips a creates a duplicate.
What Am I doing wrong?

Obviously, .exe files won't open with Mac's, since it's a Windows extension.
Open the .rar file using Stuffit Expander and extract it using only that program.

I have the exact same problem, but the .exe files don't become .rar files. What do I do? :newfag:

P.S., I was misaken, the .exe turns into a .zip, then duplicates when I unzip it

Mine doesn't even turn into a .zip, it just stays .exe

No, don't use Stuffit Expander on the .exe file, but on the original .RAR file you downloaded!

I expanded the .rar with stuffit but now I have all these random folders. Do I still follow the instructions to open the .exe or do I just run the installer?

You need a specific version of Stuffit Expander, although I forgot what version it is: https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t1142-update-read-before-posting-anything-related-to-the-sims-3
And well... MegaUpload is offline, so you can't download it from that link either.

Yea the integrity problem happens for me too. So, I guess Generations is unavailable at the moment
