After windows 10 updated, my saved games are nowhere to be found.
I had not changed anything with my sims game, it was working perfectly before the big windows 10 update and now I can't even save now apparently.
It's very frustrating, I have looked at several different sites to see if anyone else has had this problem, but it seems that so far I am the only one. I have all the latest packs downloaded and they are all from games4theworld. I do have a backup of an older saved game, but I was wondering if anyone had any ideas as to how I might be able to get my current game back? That would be amazing.
Also I did search my entire computer and drives for my saves and had no luck, if i can't get my saves back it would be great to be able to atleast get the game to be able to create new saves again!
Please and thankyou xx

Usually your saves are in:
C:\User\your username\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4
With Windows 10 they could be stored in
OneDrive\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4

Hi Tarac,
I had already explained that I had already searched my computer for the saves. I do not use onedrive so this would not be the case, thank you though.
Has anyone else had this problem and can help me??

When you have started your game The Sims 4 successfully it automatically creates a folder The Sims 4 in C:\Documents\Electronic Arts or in C:\OneDrive\Documents\Electronic Arts.
So, consequently, when you have played the game you simply MUST have a folder The Sims 4 (or Die Sims 4, Les Sims 4, Los Sims 4, depending on your language)
In that folder there are subfolders for Tray, Saves, Mods aso.
Example of my Dutch folder De Sims 4
Perform f.e. a search on the file notify.glob, (magnifying glass on taskbar), that will lead you to the location of the required folder by right-clicking on the then found file

Hello and welcome to the Forum @jessicaessica,
That might sound strange now, but do you have multiple Windows user accounts set up on that computer? If so, is your current account the same that you played TS4 on, previously?
I just tested it myself, and could save normally. Just got the update myself, and so far I am not noticing any "changes" from before. Try going under "This PC" and look for the folder Documents. Right-click on it and choose Properties. Look for the option "Read Only", and UNMARK the box. Click on Apply -> OK to save the change. I don't know if it is really necessary to do so (I have the option on "Read Only" and I can still save), but maybe it's worth trying.

I am completely aware of where my saved games folder is located as I stated, it is my saved files that are missing, but thank you for trying anyway.

I do not have multiple accounts on my PC, I also have tried Read Only and i still have the same problem. I can only open create a sim and I can't save.
I cant post any screenshots apparently yet as i'm a new member, but I'll try later in the week.

My guess is that you could have some ultra-fancy antivirus program that re-locates (parts of) your Documents-folder. I've had the issue myself once, in that - I believe it was - BitDefender simply "sandboxed" my Documents-folder and some game installations.
May I ask what your antivirus software is, besides Windows Defender? Do you even have such a program installed?

Probably not; but if you have some time right now, I am on the Forum's chatbox, at the top of the Forum's main page. Please log in there, and if you agree, I can have a look at your situation through TeamViewer (which is a tool that allows me to temporarily control your mouse/keyboard, but you can end the service by moving the mouse yourself).
