Game crashes when moving into a house

Hello, I've been having some trouble with my game, whenever I try to move a household into a house the game crashes, I can´t get past that point.
There is another post about a similar issue but that user has all the DLC installed whereas I have installed up to Cats and Dogs so I'm unsure if I can use the last game folder suggested there.

You can always use the latest Game folder.
The only problem that arises is that on start-up of the game it shows that ALL DLC's are installed (even the ones you don't have).
When you also install the DLC-toggler this problem is solved.

I replaced the "game" folder, but the game still crashes, so I believe that is not the problem

Unlike the previous poster, I suggest you NEVER use patch-incompatible files. Try using the Game-folder for Cats & Dogs here if you have not done so already (version 1.36.102.1020).

Just tried that but it is still crashing

As @Anadius1 also proved, you can - under certain conditions - install DLC's in any order.
One of the conditions is that you must have the latest Game folder.

My suggestion:
Apply the patch 1.42.30.1020 as offered on THIS TOPIC
Then use the DLC-toggler (included in the patch)
Via the toggler you can see which DLC's are missing and/or improperly installed.
Install the missing items via the same topic as shown above.
