Mods not showing up in custom content menu. Empty Mods not showing up in custom content menu.

Post by Guest Sat 27 Jan 2018, 22:06

I've been trying to install MCCC, but when i open the game none of the scripts show up in the custom content menu. All of the files are extracted correctly to the mods folder, i have tried with and without subfolders and i have both in-game tick boxes enabled. Can anybody help me in my time of distress?

EDIT: I've also tried downgrading the mod to an earlier version and uninstalling and reinstalling the game, still no results. I've tried installing a couple of other mods to see if the issue is specific to the mod, but with the same results, nothing shows up in the custom content menu.

Hello and welcome to the Forum @thomasgreen123,

If you have Windows 10, maybe check if you have this OneDrive-thing enabled. If so, please turn it off, as the program/service has the tendency to otherwise save that folder, "in the cloud".

To be 150% sure, you put your mods under C:\Users\(your name)\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\Mods ? See the example screenshot here:

Have you also verified that the mods do not actually show up in-game? Sometimes you cannot rely on the popup alone...and you have to actually see if the item(s) are in-game or not.

Hi The_gh0stm4n

Onedrive is as turned off as i can get it, and i am 151% percent sure the mods are in the correct folder:
Mods not showing up in custom content menu. Kq5mDGU
(sorry about everything being in danish)
My custom content tab is simply just empty:
Mods not showing up in custom content menu. B9XWVO9
I've checked, and the content also doesn't show up in game. I also have the two other mods, one changes the hugging animation and the other changes death reactions, none of which show up in game or in the menu.

Not to sounds repetitive of Ghostm4n by any means, First Verify that your mods are only one folder deep. meaning that the MCC folder is the only subfolder within the mods folder for the MCC files. Any file that is deeper than one subfolder will not show up in-game. Next, make sure that Enable Custom Content & Scripts Mods Allowed is selected in the settings if it isn't which by default the setting is off and reverts to off after every update. If it is off, simply enable custom content and script mods allowed and restart your game.

they should show up in-game if they are installed correctly and the right settings are applied.

Hi mbe4n

Thanks for replying, but i made sure that everything was extracted correctly including the number of subfolders. On top of that i started out saying that i tried both with and without the subfolders, but with the same results. As for the tick boxes, they are both checked.

Sorry for the belated reply,

Are you sure those CC items work the way you are attempting to use them? From experience, I can tell a lot of CC contain multiple files, maybe even for multiple purposes, and any available documentation must be read carefully. If needed and possible, ask for clarification from the CC creator(s).

That said, have you given this here a shot?

Then try ticking the boxes for activating the CC again.

Hi, I seem to be having the same issue. For whatever reason, I was able to play with CC/Mods on my computer for the longest time, and then my game bugged out and all my saves got deleted, and none of the CC/Mods in my folder would show up in my game. I thought it might be broken, so i just installed new cc/mods and also downloaded a new resource.cfg file. any help would be appreciated Smile
