Game closes before entering world

So I recently installed CC Magic because I found 2 packs with some clothing that I really wanted, but I couldn't install them for the life of me, until I installed CC Magic, which solved the problem. However, since then, I can't load any saved families, or start a new world. The loading screen almost finishes and then the game just closes itself, no warning or anything.
I've tried removing my mods (which I doubt are the cause anyway, cause I had no issues so far), and even deleting the whole sims 3 folder in my documents, with no avail. I uninstalled CC Magic, still no luck. Anyone have any ideas, I really don't want to redownload all the packs and reinstall them Thank you for your time!

Thanks for the reply! Unforunately I already tried the fresh folder method, I moved my current one to my desktop and let the game generate a new one. Although I did re-add one of my saved families, which had no troubles ever, but I will try a completely fresh folder and report back to you.
And the decrapfying method didn't work, as I already tried when I wanted to install some store content.

So I managed to get the game to work by having it recreate the documents folder, I guess it was some bad custom content after all, not really sure how though because I haven't added any recently, and the problem occured only after trying the CC Magic method... strange.
One more thing, how do I move my saved family to the new folder? Do I just copy the folder with the family's name in Saves or is there anything else I need to copy as well?

You mind if I ask one more thing? I seem to have stumbled upon another problem. I copied one of my family's save folder to the new documents folder but when I load up the game it says that there are some expansions missing and that it can't load the save. I haven't removed any of the expansion or stuff packs though. Does this mean it's just corrupted or could it be some missing store content?

The save file is probably corrupted. You can try to use the backup save file ( Family Name.sims3.backup ). Just rename or delete the current save file, then remove the .backup from the backup file
