The Sims 2 Installation Process Stucks.
First, I've installed the Double Deluxe ... went pretty well.
then when I try to install the University expansion. The entire installation process goes okay, but the last part when it shows "Please Wait" and then supposed to end the installation process by the choice of Quit or Open Read Me, it doesn't go there. It stays forever as "Please Wait".
I've tried to avoid that (thought It was not so necessary) by manually terminating the program from the task manager whenever it got stuck. but at the end of the process when I open the game, only the ones that did not got stuck (therefore didn't get terminated manually) are the ones that got properly installed and playable. So I had only 2 Expansions and 3 Stuff packs probably.
What should I do ??

Once you have succesfully installed the base game, you should apply the TS2_Update manually.
Reason: The links to the updates in the DLC's are outdated and are no longer functioning as they lead to the ancient EA Download Manager.
Download the TS2_Update HERE
Extract with Winrar and copy the files/folders to your installation folder (Program Files\EA Games\The Sims 2).
Your game is now fully updated and does no longer use the outdated links.
You can now install the other DLC's

Didn't do any good... It now terminates the Installation process (Going Backwards in the installation process bar thing)...Tarac wrote:Once you have succesfully installed the base game, you should apply the TS2_Update manually.

Have you tried extracting the download, with WinRAR, first off?
Also, you can try installing the expansions/stuffpacks after University, and see how it goes from there. If things go smooth, you can also try re-installing University at the end.

.
But the instruction says to follow the exact order. I've wasted more than 8 hours in this dead end. So I'm kind of frustrated... If you're sure it's a legit way to do then I can try

You would be surprised how many people are trying to use a different program for extraction, such as 7-zip (which oftentimes only leads to problems when decompressing the data).

Yes, for the sake of simplicity and reliability, the instructions recommend installing in order. During our testing though, it has shown that the DLC can be installed "more flexibly" as well. We still stuck with recommending the order though.
Also, at the time of the release we were not aware of any "special problems" that might occur. Some users eventually gave us the hint that they managed to bypass problems with individual DLC, by resuming with the DLC that is next in line, according to the install guide.
I know this is frustrating to do, but I can guarantee the torrent works. If for some reason you can't manage to get it work, and you really want to play a Sims 2 game, try grabbing the newer repack here, that says "The Sims 2 - Origin Ultimate Collection":

Which should be less painful to install. Or ask @Tarac to maybe help provide you an alternative repack as well. Plus you can also use ZLOrigin to play a cracked Sims 2 version.
Good luck!
