Dimmed game
Hello,
I am having trouble with my display on Sims 4. My Sims 4 game is dimmed compared to the desktop. It's still playable but it's not as enjoyable with a darker screen. I've had the game installed for several months and the display just changed today.
I'm playing on an iMac desktop with Bootcamp and Windows 10. I have Sims 3 also installed and the brightness is fine on that. The graphics card is Radeon Pro 570.
Some things I've changed recently but don't know if relevant:
-Installed Avast Antivirus. I made sure to add my Sims 4 folder to the exceptions list. I installed it last week and the game had been working fine until today.
-Used direct downloads for the latest patch and Seasons game instead of torrent
I have tried:
-Turning off the automatic brightness option in the Windows display settings
-Removing mods
-Checking for updates through Windows and Apple Software Update
-Playing in windowed mode. When in windowed mode, clicking outside of the window on the desktop brightens the screen to normal, clicking the game dims the screen.
-Installing the latest Sims 4 patch
Thank you for your help!

Re: Dimmed game
As just removing mods is not always sufficident, try this:
Rename your current folder Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4 to The Sims 4_old
Now start your game again and see if the problem still exists.
You can restore your present game by deleting the newly formed folder The Sims 4 and to rename the Sims 4_old to just The Sims 4 again.
