sims 4 will open then close after a few seconds. no error warning

so i had a laptop before this one that i downloaded the sims 4 and every dlc on from here, and it ran perfectly. with my new one i tried to download it twice and had issues both times downloading with error codes, but i was expecting that and thought it wasn't an issue after i remembered to turn off my anti virus.

now i've deleted and reinstalled about 5 times and i can't seem to get it to work. the game will open, the screen will turn white and my cursor will turn into a little blue loading circle, and it'll close after a few seconds with no error warning. it'll just say "the sims 4 has stopped working, windows is searching for a solution to the problem."

i have no idea what i'm doing wrong, whether it's the files or my laptop. advice?

Try this and post the result here. If it's files, it will tell us what's wrong.

... You need to extract base game and install it.

the_sims_4_setup.exe
files are base game installer. Move them somewhere else, run .exe and install all DLCs again in correct order.

ah, instructions weren't clear. haha. i ended up figuring that out last night when i looked through setup1 and found the files i was missing. thanks anyway though! sorry to waste your time
