Unable to start
Previously, I had 1.44.88.1020 and I started randomly having this issue, where this error came up.
I decided to start fresh and reinstall all packs, including 1.46.18.1020. I also copy'd the new game folder as well after getting a different error initially. I do not have my mods folder installed so I don't think its an issue with that. I did try searching the forum but previous posts just say its an issue with the language. I play my game in English so I'm not sure how to fix this.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Re: Unable to start
I did see that post. I do use Windows Defender as my antivirus but I was unable to use their methods, but I turned it off to the best of my ability.
Now I am getting a new error - "Unable to start: the Sims 4 is already running." It wasn't running but I restarted my computer and tried opening it again, once, and I still got that error.
Should I try reinstalling again?

Here's what I found:
You can also try running the game as administrator and in compatibility mode (for example Windows 7 mode).
If that doesn't help try this and post the result here.
And add TS4.exe or TS4_x64.exe depending on which you're using.Go to Windows Defender Security Center
Click Virus and Threat Protection
Click Virus and Threat Protection setting
Click manage controlled folder access
Click allow an app through controlled folder access.
Add an app
