sims3 takes hours to load
Hi I'm new here and havn't seen a problem like mine posted as far as I can tell.
Firstly I had problems downloading Town life stuff and pets, when first downloading the entire set, but seem to have got around that problem.
Now It seems I have got the game loading but taking hours.
First I get a message ''unable to connect to origin''... After clicking ok to that I start the game by clicking the triangle.. It takes about half hour of black screen (circle spinning inside showing its loading).
Then it takes me to the place to pick one of the towns. (So I'm assuming I've downloaded everything correctly and cracked it correctly to get to this point??
Then when i select a town, it shows a green bar showing how much its loaded...but takes about 3 hours just to go halfway. I left it overnight and next morning it just wasn't there.. I was hoping it would have been ready to play.
If anyone could help me with this problem I would appreciate it, as its taken 3 days of frustration to get the game going. Now I've run out of things to try.
im running windows 7 if that matters? and my system is all ok.
thanks in advance for any help.

Hello,
I'd still like to recommend you check that your pc can run the game here, also check Pets separately since it has different requirements than the base game and other expansions.
The "unable to connect to Origin" message doesn't matter, you'd only use Origin to patch the game, which can easily be done manually and many users don't install Origin at all.
It would also help to know if you've added any mods or cc to the game.

Re: sims3 takes hours to load
Thanks for reply.
I got a 'pass' For can i run the game, on that site. Pets passed as well.
All I have downloaded is the 10 games that came with the collection...ie world adventure, high end, ambition etc.
I have done the manual fix which seems to have worked..its just the amount of time it takes to load. I have had sims3 (by itself) before and it ran fine and loaded quickly.

Re: sims3 takes hours to load
Hello,
The Sims 3 is known for that, unfortunately. With each expansion, there's more to load so it makes sense that a complete game loads much slower than just the base game. As long as it doesn't crash, I'd suggest simply starting the game and getting a snack ready as it loads , that's what I do.

Re: sims3 takes hours to load
It crashes at the end. Tonight I left it go all night again and it just dissapears. So the waiting for hour and hours is not an option anyway.
I also did the ''freezes to desktop fix''' but still the same thing happens..its so frustrating its been about 4 days trying to solve this one..any help would be great..thx

Hello,
Ah sorry I thought this hours loading time was solved, hence my "snack" comment. Since it takes at least 15 minutes to fully load on my end.
Are you using mods/cc at all?

Hello,
A build mode crash usually suggests that you used the wrong crack, are you getting an unofficial game modification error when you start the game on your laptop?
Mods/cc are user created objects and modifications that make the game more interesting, but if you didn't know what they are, I doubt you have any.
