Issues with buydebug
Hello everyone.
I have been having problems with the "buydebug" feature in my game. Whenever I get items using "buydebug" and then go to "Edit Town", I get stuck in an infinite loop. Using the advice provided on this forum, I have discovered the "storefix_decrap_fix" file was the cause of my problems.
The problem is that I have a lot of premium store content (all of which was provided by the site), and they are rendered useless without the file. I tried all the fixes provided by the forum, such as using the fix files provided by the forum, and even did a complete reinstall, but the problem is still there. Is there a way I can get my items from "buydebug" while still retaining my premium content? I need both for some houses I'm designing.
The reason I'm asking is that for people who have posted this problem before either had theirs fixed with methods that didn't work for me or were willing to forgo using buydebug, which I rather not.

Hello and welcome to the Forum,
No fix for that problem has been found yet, sorry. At that point I can only suggest that you prioritize, as uncomfortable as it is.
A possible way out could be that we release another compilation of store items; this time in a non-decrapified (= original) fashion. These are essentially store items provided by EA as-is, and they should work without the need for store fixes. The "only" problem is: I don't think these items can be installed on DRM-free versions of the game, and are intended only for original/legit games.
It's really cool that people (partly in response to the rather mediocre Sims 4?) still play The Sims 3, but I can't really help more on this end. Many years ago I read about a tweak from an obscure source - that I do not recall anymore - that it's possible to transfer (some?) buydebug items to the "normal" buymode, which would allegedly lead to players being able to bypass problems with endless loading screens. Maybe I can try doing some more digging around the internet again.

Re: Issues with buydebug
Thanks for your response.
The thing is I didn't have a problem getting items from buydebug before, even when I had the premium content. It is only recently that I would get the infinite loading screen when grabbing items from there. In fact, the same items I'd previously get without issue are now causing hangups. Could it be something else is conflicting?
I have been on the same verison of the game (1.67) for what it's worth.
EDIT: In the meantime, can you tell me where you read about that bypass? My search isn't turning up anything.

Yeah I tried playing the new game, but it felt too stripped down for me. The lack of customizations for the clothes was a dealbreaker for me.It's really cool that people (partly in response to the rather mediocre Sims 4?) still play The Sims 3,

Sorry for the belated reply,
I read about this *many years* ago, must have been around 2013 or 2014. If I remembered the source I would have mentioned it in the previous reply. That being said, I did download the files that were mentioned in the source, and repacked them here:

No, I could not tell either how exactly to use that tool, but let's see. Feel free to do some googling yourself and/or play around with the tool, based e.g. on the filenames in that package (I will do so as well, when I get more time).
I found those files on an old hard-drive of mine, but I really can't remember where I got them from - credits therefore go to whoever created that tool.

LennyNo,
You are not alone. For the last week or so I've had the buydebug+saving issue (version 1.67), without ever having this issue before. What's more, when I open the Launcher and later X out of it...it NOW gives me a message I've never seen before: "The uploading process is running. Do you want to cancel this process and exit the application?" It doesn't affect my game, but it just started happening seemingly together with the 'save' issue. Could be completely unrelated and just coincidence.
Thank you The_gh0stm4n for the recategorizer DL. Invisible lights worked great!
