Ultimate Fix / Update From Sims 3 Launcher to newest version still need to apply files? or just crack?

Hi

Just need some reassurance, I am waiting to download all the games to The Sims 3. By following the instruction not to apply any cracks to the expansion packs, I'm continuing to install the other expansion packs, the game launcher suggest that I need to update the expansion packs I installed, so I did. My base game also had to be updated to 1.29.55, I just wondering do I still need to apply the Ultimate Fix files to my default files even though they already been updated to the newest patches or shall I just apply the crack to base game?
