Game doesn't work after updates + validator doesn't work

Hey!

My Sims 4 was working perfectly until I updated it from Laundry Day to the newest update 1.47something. The game worked but graphics were messed up (pink, blue, purple, question marks and llamas on the new expansion packs logos on the start screen etc.) I noticed many people ran the validator but since I don't understand the results that didn't help. I installed all the updates again in the right order but I have had this problem with files for a while now. If I try to copy+paste the files to Sims 4 folder everything crashes meaning the windows explorer (not sure if this the right translate for it but you know the whole thing with folders and stuff) so I just move the files to the folder. Now if I try to move some of the files to Sims 4 folder my computer gives me message that it can't find the file from original folder (sorry I'm trying my best with the translating) meaning I can't move the folder there at all. I tried to run the game but now the Origin log in window pops up. Basically it's a mess and I have no clue what to do. I really don't want to install the whole game again. Is there anything I could try? I have all the files are on my firewalls exception list and I've tried moving the whole Sims folder to my desktop. I tried to run the validator again but window pops up and says "could not detect game version, wrong directory selected" even though it the right folder The Sims 4.

Validator detects the version from "Game\Bin\Default.ini" file. If it's missing, then you messed up. You said you updated your game to the latest version, so delete your "Game" folder and download it again from here: https://www.games4theworld.club/t34448-the-sims-4-update-version-1-47-51-1020-out-now

Then run validator in quick scan mode and post the result here.

My skills aren't that good with computers so how exactly I post the results? I'm trying to download the newest update now but I suspect that it doesn't let me move it to the game folder since I've tried it few times before. I deleted "Game" folder already and tried putting Get Famous there again but it didn't let me.

Validator result is just a text. You can paste it here.

What do you mean it doesn't let you? What's the error? If you have your game in "C:\Program Files" then it will ask you for administrator rights to paste files there.

I tried and I was right. If I try to copy+paste the whole windows explorer crashes and I have to open all the folders and such again. If I try to move the folders to the Sims 4 folder window pops up and says it can't find the object/subject (meaning the file, don't know the right translation) and that the file isn't in the original folder anymore and the check the location of the folder and try again. This happens with "Game" folder so I don't have that folder at all in the TS4 folder right now.

But I guess the windows explorer thing is my computers problem not just the game problem but so far the game has worked if I have just moved the folders to the Sims 4 folder.

This is strange. I have no idea where that crash could come from but the error that file is missing could be because your anti-virus deleted it while copying.

"explorer.exe" is basic Windows program. When you open the folder - that window is created by "explorer.exe".

Okay so basically all there is left to install the whole game again from the beginning?

I think the crashing and the game are somehow linked to together since it started after one of the updates since I don't use this computer for anything else. The crashing happens with everything tho not with just the game files.

I appreciate the help even though the problem still exist. I'll start googling help for the crashing next Very Happy

If you're using anti-virus, try disabling it.

If you're not, then I suggest scanning your computer with some. Because what you're describing is not normal. You can use this one: https://www.eset.com/int/home/online-scanner/

I somehow managed to get the "Game" folder back in there and could do the validator so there's that. I'm running the scan for the computer now.

I'd start with deleting those two files:
game/bin/python33.dll
game/bin/python33_x64.dll

If that doesn't help, go to Documents\Electronic Arts and move The Sims 4 folder to desktop.

If that also doesn't help, run validator again. This time in normal mode.

I removed those files and the game run until it crashed and same with when I moved the folder to desktop. Here's new report.

It seems that the game works now. I moved some of the files again TS4 folder and they went in when they didn't before. You can close the topic! Thank you for your help Smile
