Updating the legit game vs waiting for updates here

I could have sworn there was another post on this topic, but I can't find it now. Something about not rushing to update the game, but waiting for patches to be routed through here first. But I'm pretty sure that was posted before Origin offered the base game for free and had to do with the game installation gotten from here, not Origin.

I wanted to hop onto my legit installation to grab some items from the Gallery, but Origin is pushing an update, saying the game will be unplayable if I don't update. I initially accepted, but then I canceled before it got too far and logged out.

If I were to accept Origin's update to the legit installation, how (if at all) would it affect my G4tW/anadius game? I mean, on the one hand they're separate installations but on the other hand they do share some settings (like allowing online content, for example).

Should I just table any Gallery browsing and pretend I don't have a legit installation until the updates are caught up on this end?

I mean you can download the Origin update in the meantime, and fetch your Gallery items. If you want to be absolutely safe, rename the G4TW/anadius installation folder something like "The Sims 4_". This should normally rule out interferences.

But just keep in mind, that the Gallery items you download from the new patch, will NOT be usable currently in the G4TW/anadius version. You will need to wait for the cracked version of the patch to come out.
