Unable to start the sims 4

Hi there, new to this forum so I’m sorry if this has already been talked about! I had the sims 4 and all the expansion packs downloaded up until I tried adding the new strangerville expansion pack. Long story short, I messed up and moved files I shouldn’t have (I’m not very techy and was trying to follow a YouTube Chanel!) I got too confused with everything so thought I’d try and delete/uninstall everything and go from square one. I tried redownloading the base game before adding expansions just to be sure it worked and I’m getting this same message come up every time I try to run the game (I will attach a picture) if anyone can tell me where I’ve gone wrong and what I need to do, I would be really thankful!

You didn't attach any image, what was the error message?

I know about installing it all in the right order. Before I installed any of the expansions I wanted to try out the base game first just to see if it worked, and it came up with this message “unable to start: initialisation error at start up [135dec40:984c6a38:00000077]

If your game is still in "C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4", move it to shorter path, for example "C:\Program Files\The Sims 4". Add "The Sims 4\Game\Bin" folder to your anti-virus exception list. Then run the validator and post the result here.

Hiya, so I’ve just gone onto my laptop and clicked on the sims 4 game/shortcut on my desktop and some how it’s started working!? I hadn’t dont anything that you said above. However it’s extremely laggy and I’m not too sure why or what to do about that? I’m going to try and download the expansion packs and fingers crossed it works if you’ve got any advice on how to get rid of the lag then that would be great, if not, thank you for your help!

No idea what could cause the lag but I'd start with moving "Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4" to desktop to start the game completely fresh.

And if you haven't downloaded all DLCs yet you might want to try my repack (link in signature). It will be smaller to download.

hiya, when you say move it to my desktop, do I literally just move the sims 4 folder or the entire documents/electronic arts/the sims 4 folders?

Just the "The Sims 4" folder. I added "Documents\Electronic Arts" to clarify which folder I want you to move to desktop. This one has your saves, mods, options, etc. and that's the one I want you to move to desktop.

So I’ve bumped into another bit of an issue! Sorry to be annoying haha. I’ve downloaded up until jungle adventure, and when I click “run as administrator” to make sure it works, it’s coming up with a message that’s saying “run the game as administrator if it is the first time you start it. Always make sure origin client is not running” do you know what I could possibly need to do? I am running it as administrator every time I try! once again, sorry to be a pain! I’m not very techy haha

I have no idea, I've never played with the older crack. Up to Jungle Adventure crack was made by (or based on crack from) RELOADED. From My First Pet Stuff CODEX cracks the game. That's why I suggested using my repack. With it you can update your game to the latest version (which uses CODEX crack) and then install any DLCs you want.

You could try moving it to different folder (for example to "C:\Program Files\The Sims 4") but I'm not sure if this will change anything. Or install next DLC.
