How to navigate a dual installation. [SOLVED] Empty How to navigate a dual installation. [SOLVED]

Now that I have everything installed and I can see what's going on, I just want to confirm that my understanding is correct. The original thread this was in has been closed, so I'm posting fresh here.

So after closing the Origin game, you will need to transfer these Tray-items, to the other Documents-folder ("re-name" Origin-folder => "re-normal-name" G4TW folder, nice terminology though Very Happy ).

You don't need to turn off the WiFi. Just make sure that before you start up the G4TW version, to completely log out of Origin and close all windows. Even the log-in prompt of Origin must be closed.

With some discipline, you can theoretically forego the hassle of renaming these folders back-and-forth, and just use one single combined Documents-folder. I may edit the guide that I sent out through the newsletter, in that regard. Basically whenever there is a new update, it will download through Origin first. You should WAIT until there is a crack out. When the time comes, apply the new crack/patch to the G4TW version.

After which you can then download your Gallery items. Don't actually load into your savefile when you start up the Origin game, just access the Gallery from the main menu. This is a risk factor that you need to keep in mind, if you don't want to do the folder-renaming trick. So only access the Gallery from the main menu (button in the top right of the screen, on the main menu).

When you finished downloading your stuff and closed the Origin game, don't move or rename any folders in that case. As said, both G4TW and Origin TS4 installations share the same Documents-location.

Start up the G4TW version, and you should have your Gallery items in-game.

As I understand it:

I definitely need to keep the Origin installation separated from the G4tW installation by appropriately re-naming the folders in Program Files (x86)\Origin Games.

I should only use the Origin installation to get things from the Gallery. I should not do anything except go into the Gallery when I'm running the Origin installation.

I should never load a game while running the Origin installation. The Origin installation is for Gallery access only. Log in, browse, download, log out, close everything down.

I don't have to be offline, but I should make sure I'm logged out before running the G4tW installation. If the Origin log-in prompt is not even running, then I know I'm not logged in and I can do anything I like as long as I don't try to connect or access the Gallery.

If I follow the above guidelines, I don't need to have separate folders in Documents\Electronic Arts.
-- This is handy because I have no idea how to identify which files are what in the Tray folder.

At the moment I have two separate Documents folders. What's the best way to merge them? Or do I simply delete the one that has the empty Tray folder?

Not sure if you wanted to ask something specific with the first post, but regarding this bit here...you basically just move the contents from one Documents-folder, to the other one. Or even simpler, go inside one of the Documents-folders, copy all the contents, go inside the other Documents-folder, paste the contents there, and at the end maybe delete the original Documents-folder, but that is optional.

My first post, I'm looking for a "Yes, that's right" or a "No, not quite" type of response.

For my second post, thank you.

Ah!!  Idea Idea  Well, yes. You're basically right with the statements in the first message.  pirat

Maybe it's worth emphasizing again, that in the Origin game you can access the Gallery easily from the main menu, and without having to load into a savefile. Use the button in the top right of the main menu, to load up the Gallery. When finished the downloading, just exit the game.

And make sure that whenever a new patch comes out, do not immediately download new Gallery items, instead wait until there is a cracked patch available, either from G4TW, anadius, or whatever.
