Installation problem sims 3 complete collection. [SOLVED]

I  can't seem to fully install all the expansion packs of the 'sims 3 complete collection' torrent. It downloaded without a problem and I can install the base game, world adventures and High-end loft stuff just fine, following the instructions. When I get to ambitions (and higher) however, I get the error "This product needs an installed version of the sims 3 to work. Install the Sims 3 before installing this product".

I've tried:

- installing/reinstalling a dozen times
- the GFTW fix
- installing the expansion packs on top of my legal copy of the base game and the GFTW base game
- changing up the order of the expansions and stuff packs.  
- troubleshooting / google

I just can't install ambitions and any stuff or expansion pack that comes after. Any help would be appreciated!

There's many other things to consider as well, beyond what you listed.

- when you attempted to uninstall & re-install, did you use a proper uninstallation program such as "Your Un-installer Pro" (available here)? Or did you use the built-in uninstaller? The former method should be preferred; and when using the program Your Un-installer Pro, always choose "super mode" for uninstalling stuff.

- did you also re-boot the computer after un-installing / before re-installing?

- is your legal base game on Steam maybe? If yes, uninstall it.

- or is your legal base game on Origin, but maybe on version 1.69? This could lead to further complications, and I would actually recommend uninstalling such an Origin game as well. There is really no point in my opinion anyways to having it.

- did you force re-check the torrent to see if the contents are damaged maybe? This can take a while to complete, but can also help.

- did you make sure to extract the archive file/download, with WinRAR?

- did you consider re-downloading with a different torrent client? In that context I would also recommend to NOT use "uTorrent" anymore, in the year 2019. qBittorrent or Tixati are better alternatives.

I got it to work by swapping out CC cleaner by revo uninstaller and doing the most extensive registry search. tested it and everything works fine!
