Refresher please on installing this *new* patch!

Imelda has taken it's toll on my family and my brain at the moment. I downloaded the Magic patch and need a little bit of help remembering how to do this patch.

My game is installed as follows: C:\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4

So, do I rename "The Sims 4" because I read the instructions four times and it didn't make sense to me.(Worked cleaning out my parents' ruined home today)

Sorry to hear about the state of affairs at your end... To use this patch you need to have The Real Of Magic Game Pack installed. If you do, just proceed to install this patch per the instructions at the same place you have installed the previous GPs and Expansions. It's most probably not. I think you meant "C:\Users\\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4", but that's not where the game should be. In this folder the game keeps saves, mods, options, etc. Your game should be somewhere else, like "C:\Program Files\The Sims 4" or "C:\Program Files (x86)\The Sims 4". Or wherever you put it.

It was installed exactly as I typed it.

And you don't rename "The Sims 4" before installing a new patch or DLC.

What the instructions do say or recommend is that you rename or delete the subfolder "Game", within The Sims 4. Again, the "Game"-subfolder is located within your installation of The Sims 4.

It used to be a lot easier to install these G4TW DLCs, but owing to the fact that we're 5 years into this game now with countless individual mini-DLCs, it can indeed be tricky. Check out the guide that @grieralexander linked to, before, and you should be fine. This guide gets updated whenever there is a new update or DLC, being released on G4TW here.
