Just want to start with saying thank you for all your hard work so far providing all these games for the rest of us. Thank you!

So here's the problem.
I have all the expansions and extras installed except for UL, so I downloaded it and installed it according to the instructions.

I downloaded the latest ultimate fix (for 1.55) and when it was when I reached the part where it's time to update the game to 1.55 that it started giving me trouble.

I first tried updating it through the game client which gave me the "invalid file error". So i downloaded the manual patch and when I try to start it up it displays an error message "The installed version of the application could not be determined. The setup will now terminate."

And i basically have no idea what's going on. Razz

I was kinda hoping the update and fix with solve another problem I'm having. When i try to start the game I get an error saying "No game disc found! Please insert The Sims 3 Showtime game disc before proceeding"

Soooo, what do you think i should do to solve all this? Because I'm a bit lost!

Tell us your game version: open the Launcher, hover over the base game icon and give us the number shown there...

I also noticed that my game launcher says that showtime, diesel, supernatural, seasons, 70s 80s 90s and university are not installed though they should be (except for 70s 80s 90s which i still need to download).

I checked and the files where there amongst the programs as they should be yet they don't appear as installed.

Wait, maybe I know the problem here.
Please follow those steps:
¤ Open the Ultimate Fix (any of them is fine), and copy the files from every folder EXCEPT THE CRACK FOLDER (leave it alone for now). Copy the files to their respective location.
¤ Now apply the Manual Patch to 1.55
¤ Then open the latest Ultimate Fix (has to be the one compatible with 1.55), and copy the files from the Crack folder to their respective location.
That way, your game should update and you should be able to play!

I followed your steps and got the same results however when i got the pop up error while doing the manual patch i got another pop up asking me if i wanted to try installing it with Microsofts recommended settings so i clicked yes.

But yet again I got an error message however this one was different "The setup has detected that the installed game region for this update is incorrect. This update requires a different game region in order to be installed."

So maybe i should try a region 2 patch after all?

Maybe I have overlooked it, but is there a reason why you can't download the big "manual super-patch" ? It's because there are no region versions for that. Wink

Hello,

OK, I have really overlooked that Embarassed. But you should try to re-apply ALL FILES from the "Ultimate fix". Read the instructions very carefully. And when you are at step 12 of the instructions, re-apply that manual patch. And after that, re-apply the two files from the #crack in the fix.

One thing you could still try is this here: http://consumerdocs.installshield.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=Q108312&sliceId=1

Click on "Ikernel engine update", then download and install it. This will update your "installation engine". I'm afraid it's just a small chance, but you should give it a try.

I suggest you wait for a while, until you really un-install all that. I will think about your problem Wink, but right now, it's getting a bit late (where I am at least).

I will come back to you though later in the day or tomorrow; or maybe another Helper will have a look at this.

Until then, I'm afraid you have to be a bit patient. Wat.
