HOW DO I MOVE THE SIMS 3 TO ANOTHER COMPUTER. [SOLVED]

I want to move my sims 3 games (I have all the packs) to a new computer via a usb stick.  I want to move it to the D drive as the C drive is rather small.  Will I need to install it again?  If so how?  Will I need to apply the crack again?

I would appreciate any help on this as I'm unsure what to do.  I did manage to transfer the sims 4 to my new D drive and it's working fine, so I presume I can move the sims 3.  Any help please.

Hello @JANNO,

Unfortunately The Sims 3 has important registry entries (unlike TS4!), so simply moving your TS3 install folder elsewhere will result in a broken mess.

In the end you will need to re-install the entire game. If you don't have the installers anymore, there is a newer repack from G4TW here, the one that says "newer TS3 repack with all-in-one installer":

Thank you for responding.  I've tried to find the download instructions for the all-in-one but the video that was posted doesn't work.  I could download them individually, which I will do at some stage.  From what I can gather installing on my d-drive is a lengthy and complicated process and I will do it eventually, but thank you anyway for your assistance.

I admit I never downloaded myself that newer G4TW repack, but I don't think there is much to it. There is a "setup.exe" which you need to run, and the thing will auto-install everything. But it's up to you which version you choose to download/re-install.

SUCCESS!  I downloaded the all-in-one.  It wasn't as complicated as I thought.  I just had to when given the option select browse and direct the file to my D-drive and it installed perfectly.  I haven't put my mods in yet, but so far it is working beautifully.  THANKYOU! THANKYOU! THANKYOU!  I am so pleased.  Am now off to play.
