The Sims 4 "Discover University hotfix" [VERSION 1.58.69.1010] - OBSOLETE!!

Thank You! You guys are awesome It is funny how EA addressed this issue on the patch notes without any details, just that they had taken care of the crashes caused by mods and the corruption of old saves. One of the reasons I always insist with our G4TW Club Members to keep a backup of their tray files and saves. I will check on the mod situation and report at Sims Emporium section of the forum later.

I cannot access to any of the download link because there seems to be a problem with the video that we have to watch before.

I use Chrome and I use a VPN (PIA) with a browser extension (same for 2 years now). 
Did I understood you right ? SO what more should I do because I was always able to access the link with the exact same configuration before... ?

Sometimes VPN services in general are messing with these ads through their built-in adblocking features. Alternatively consider going through the ads without the VPN, and before you start the actual (torrent) download, re-connect to the VPN then.

I downloaded and followed the directions to install it. When I go to start my game it gives me a error and tells me Unable to start: Unable to start due to missing game data. Please download The Sims 4 Legacy Edition from Origin. [5de4b8a3:29f00e76:00000000:00000000] 

I don't remember having a issue before with installing the sims or any of its updates from here. I am unsure of what I am doing wrong.

You need to start the game under Game => Bin => TS4_x64.exe, because 32-bit is not supported anymore for the University DLC (and follow-up patches). The reason you got this error is because you used the TS4.exe, which I thought about removing before making the update, but then it's part of the update, so I kept it in.

It's always a problem with these games that run for years and years. Things that people "have gotten used to" become obsolete, and new stuff is introduced. All we can do though, is roll with it.

GUYS I JUST WANNA THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH FOR THIS FIX!! Now I can finally play sims hahahahaha!!

Brief comment for those of you who play the "Legacy Edition Patch". You can use the "Game"-folder included in this patch, and copy the "Bin_LE" subfolder, to your Legacy Edition game. Overwrite existing files, and play with an updated TS4.exe.

I will later on add any future mini-patches for the Legacy Edition, in some separate topic.

I have downloaded discover university (and all the others) from here, like normally and now the patch, but the university still doesnt show up on my game.. Any ideas what should i do? On menu screen, where i see all expansion packs, there is just gray icon and it says i should buy it. Every other expansion packs says "owned". Anyone even knows what i mean?

I think you might have installed the Legacy Edition instead of the regular one, since the Legacy Edition does not have University. You should have downloaded version 1.58.69.1010 and at the time of play executed the X64 exe. file. If you already downloaded the right patch, remove the game folder and reapply the patch.

Since you are missing the University Pack I would download the University Pack from here and the patch that followed to see if that might solve your problem. You should not need to reinstall everything, just the last 2, remove the game folder, as usual and let us know. The files might have been corrupted during extraction or download. Try this and let us know.

Yes, with the release The Sims 4 in 2014 already, they must have hired the services of a new marketing department/PR-firm/spin doctor. Because the marketing-aspect is pretty much the only good thing about TS4, which is actually sad, but whatever.

I wonder what EA pays that PR-firm, the fees must be astronomic ...
