The Sims 4 "Discover University Mega-Patch" [VERSION 1.59.73.1020] - OUT NOW!!

With a slight delay we have now come up with a G4TW repack for the newest patch version of The Sims 4! Namely version 1.59.73.1020, which is another follow-up patch for the "Discover University" expansion pack. Read more on the official patch notes here:

Requirements/Contents


We recommend that you install this patch, after having installed "Discover University" from G4TW (refer to this guide for details), or if you got your repack from elsewhere you should have a TS4 game on patch version 1.58.63.1010, before you can apply this item.

The download already includes the content from the previous 1.58.69.1010 update, therefore you do not need to download the previous "Discover University hotfix"!

The download is 6.06GB in filesize, includes all 17 language strings, and a complete "Game"-subfolder, as always.





"ISP warning"

For all of you digital internet travelers out there, a warning for the following countries is issued.

- America
- Canada
- Australia
- The United Kingdom
- New Zealand
- France
- Germany
- and probably a few other Western satellite states (Italy and Spain seem "on the ball" lately)

If you happen to torrent the item using your internet while being in one (or more) of these countries, you risk a termination of your internet subscription, and maybe severe fines too. If that happens, then whatever further consequences you may face are out of our hand, and it will be solely within your responsibility to make the necessary arrangements. In general, make an effort to actively inform yourselves about the situation in your own home-country regarding torrenting, as the above-listed countries are by no means an exhaustive listing; these countries are just your "usual suspects" in that regard. Use a paid VPN service like NordVPN, VPN.ac, Windscribe or ProtonVPN to cover your activities.

And note that these services are just recommendations. There's many more decent VPN services out there. As long as the basics of the VPN provider are present (privacy-friendly jurisdiction/location of company headquarters, DNS leak protection, killswitch, no-logs-policy) you're good to go with any VPN service that supports torrenting.

"Does it have to be a paid VPN service???" Yes, it does, because free ones are not going to cover your properly. VPN services are aware of the fact that more and more countries don't allow torrenting, and they want to exploit these trends, by offering P2P-capability only on paid plans.

Even if you use a VPN, try not to connect to servers located in the above-mentioned countries...if at all possible with your particular VPN service.

This thing was not there earlier in the day when I made the announcement, so it must have been introduced in the course of the day. Then again, (and that can be seen as a disadvantage with the company), they frequently introduce new and un-announced changes.

Yes, my wording in the announcement may be a bit misleading, but again, that change was just introduced today, and from a logical standpoint, the meaning of my comment was "use a VPN for downloading the actual torrent".

There have been problems in the past with people not getting through the Linkvertise, because many VPNs now use fancy ad-blocking features. If you like to support us, you can temporarily turn off your VPN, go through the Linkvertise, and turn the VPN back on before the actual download. We'll just have to amend the information-post for the Linkvertise again.

If that step is not reasonable for you though, then that's also fine by me.

I've heard about a new crack for The Sims 4, that can help people with these "Hello : )" messages when starting up the game, is that something we can have on G4TW here as well?

Yo, I think @User09 mentioned something about it earlier. Though they aren't exactly new cracks, before CODEX did those files, there was the group RELOADED. For reasons unknown to me RELOADED stopped though after the City Living DLC, and then some other person from a Russian Hacker-Forum took over. After another while, if I recall correctly, they also retired. Fast forward today, we now have CODEX' items.

We'll see. Maybe if these files are available beginning with the next update, we might include them as "alternative No-Origin files", for the people suffering from the virtualization-related problems.

In other news, the grapevine told me we may see another "mega-patch" coming up soon again, probably not before Christmas, but yes. If that is the case, we will merge a hypothetical new update, with the current one here, to reduce the number of patches on the G4TW downloads list. Mind you, it's just the grapevine. Either way:

If you are on patch level 1.58.69.1010, which is the previous hotfix, then I would actually recommend to wait, and not download this new thing here. It just adds more problems to the game. Don't let yourself be fooled by EA's lengthy patch notes; you will just end up having more problems, unless (maybe) you are one of the very few people who play The Sims 4 completely without mods and CC. But up to you.

I installed both the sims 4 university and then the update.When I launched the game it says one of my packs are still downloading. I started one of my games and no university items are showing, the icon for the university expansion is there, but it says click to download???

Try this: copy and paste the contents of the "Discover University" .7z archive file again, over your TS4 installation. Replace existing files when prompted. After that, you do the same again with this new 1.59.73.1020 patch. Test your game again after that.
