Issue with the Sims 3
Ok, well, where to begin.
I've attempted to install all the expansions and base game, oh, eight or so times now. I've tried pretty much every fix I've come across, from the DEP switch to compatibility mode to UNDOING the compatibility mode (including the registry.) Depending on the install, I've gotten more or less every error message imaginable, and every problem on the website I've seen. So this is me bucking up and hoping for an answer from the powers that be.
On the current install, which I did to the letter, I get the error on startup that Sims 3 is a bad version or what have you. Choosing continue and re-maximizing the game will let the main screen with the lovely Master Suite background of rose petals finish. At that point, the game crashes with a Windows box and that classic "Send error report" nonsense.
Covering a few bases before you mods/admins ask, the game is fully up to date, version-wise. My computer can very capably run the game. I'm using the latest Ultimate Fix download (unless there's been a new one since last night.) To the best of my knowledge, the install went swimmingly. I rebooted between uninstalling and reinstalling. Drivers are up to date. DEP is still off. As I said, I did the compatibility fix and removed it again on the reinstall, from the registry.
I throw myself at the mercy of the mods!

What version of the game do you have? I had the same problem. If it's 1.31 you'll have to check the manual update fix.

Hello,
Indeed if your game is fully up to date as of this moment, your current issues are caused by that, since there's no crack yet for that game version. Admin is working on it though.
You can install yet again taking care not to patch past 1.29, or spare yourself the frustration and wait just a few days until the new fix is out. I wouldn't expect it before Showtime is released, but Admin may surprise you.
