Updating problem/ Region error (PLEASE HELP!) for the sims 3

Hi,

I'm trying to update my Sims 3 game through the launcher,

Game update for: 1.14/2.9/3.5/ 4.2
and the update file is: SIms3_4.2.32.007001_from_4.0.87.006001,exe

but after it downloads, this pops up:

"The setup has detected that the installed game region for the update is incorrect
This update requires a different game region in order to be installed"

and sometimes it also says 'invalid file'

changed the SKU number of all the expansions and stuff packs (W.A,
HELS, Ambitions) to '2' including TS3 -like you asked me to, but i
still have the same problem :/

I have them all at "2" as well, but uh, I don't get the 4.2 update in the launcher. I tried downloading from another site but regardless what number I put into SKU->Ambitions Registry, I'd get a region error.

I wasn't aware the launcher had a new update.

Hello,

If you have Ambitions installed too, just reinstall Ambitions and you'll automatically have the latest version of the Game. So do it like this:

1. Uninstall Ambitions.
2. Restart your PC.
3. Reinstall Ambitions.
4. See if it works now.
