The Sims 3 Showtime Compatibility error. [SOLVED]

I managed to get as far as beginning to install Showtime when this error came up:

The Sims 3 Showtime Compatibility error
The version of The Sims 3 installed is not updatable and is not compatible with The Sims 3 Showtime.

I do not have the 1.31 patch yet, I did try to get it once; it said that I had two files that were modded and that I could not patch because of this.

I hope I do not have to reinstall all of the games...do i have any other options?

Try applying the 1.31 patch manually first and then install Showtime.
