Sims 3 neighbourhood problem since Showtime

Hi guys,

So I've got a weird problem going on and it happened 3 times in a row now..
Installation went fine, no problems at all.
So when I start the Sims 3 and am in the neighbourhood screen I place a Sim into a home to play with.
When I click 'OK' to start playing, normally your screen is supposed to zoom in on the lot chosen and start playing.
Now, after I click OK all the buttons from neighbourhood disappear and all I can do is move the screen and that's it.
This means I can't play with a family..

So, any suggestions/ideas on what is going on?
