Sims 3 has stopped working

Hello,

Not sure if it's something I am doing wrong or what? My launcher had auto updated to 1.32 before u made the new patch, now when I applied the new patch you have made, I try and start my game be it through the launcher or just by going directly to the game, it tells me sims 3 has stopped working and crashes. It won't even load the game at all. Also I can not even install the content you had on mediafire. When trying to do that it freezes and crashes then close. Not sure if I have to uninstall and start over or what? I also tried the regedit thing as well which did not work. If you could help it would be greatly appreciated. If I infact need to start fresh how do I back up my files or important things so I won't loose my familys, stats, and homes I've made?

First off welcome to the forum and as for your problem

Try this solution here..............

First you have to put the files from from the Ultimate Fix into where the instructions say and in step 11 instead of using the launcher to update use the manual update from the link below but be sure to follow it STEP BY STEP.....

Since my launcher auto updated to 1.32 the manual fix will
not work. Error message that it has found a newer version of this
software and in order for me to install the manual fix I'll have to the
most recent version. I am at a stand still at the moment because I
honestly do not know what to do. At this point I think I will have to
uninstall everything and re do it all. If that's what I have to do how
do I back up my stuff?

To back up all your info just move the The Sims 3 folder from your Documents to the desktop. Change the name just in case......

So when you install again it wont delete your current data.

Its unfortunate but i have no idea how to revert back on a current patch

I'm not new to Games4theworld sims 3 torrents. I've updated twice with these games installed, I've reinstalled and played the games with no issue many times. For some reason I'm having an issue now with Showtime. I did the manual update in combination with the Ultimate Fix but in the middle of the game loading it stops and a pop-up says that the sims 3 is not responding.

I'm not sure what to do, I've followed everything word for word and I've never had this issue before with these games :[ Only now with Showtime.

I followed all the steps at first and applied the manual fix. Since my game keeps crashing I uninstalled it all and now I have reinstalled did both the manual fixes and it still says sims 3 has stopped working and closes out. I do not know what the problem is at all. I uninstall all of the games and did not use the launcher at all to update i use the manual fixes provided. Now when I click to start the game it says it has stopped working and closes. I cant even add content for mods from g4tw mediafire acct because I get the same error msg. Please help I do not know what else to do.

Error msg: sims 3 has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.

I just did the DEP one and still nothing. Now i get a error msg: Unable to start game. Service initialization failed (0x024e424f). Then it crashes and closes. Not sure what the error means or what to do.

Yes I do have mods/cc installed, and I seem to can not install anything new, not even through using the launcher. The cc on g4tw mediafire site won't let me install those either. My game freezes and stops working then closes.

Yes I have the latest version and I'm running 1.32. I was able to install and use mods/cc before now seems I can't. Is there anyway I can still use mods or no?

You should be able to use Mods, yes, but don't put them into the game yet!
Please open the "# Installation Guide.pdf" that comes with the Ultimate Fix. What version does it show?

Please try this:

1. Go to Documents\Electronic Arts
2. You'll see a folder called "The Sims 3".
3. Drag & drop this folder to your Desktop and remove it from your Documents folder.

Start the game and let us know the result. Good luck!

My game does start. My question is, does that mean something in my mods is corrupt or wrong? Should I go through each one to find out which one is causing my game to crash? I assume that would be the best solution. Well answering my own questions.....Rofl. I appreciate your help. I will try the one by one solution and let you know how it works.

P.S. I did just install CC Magic don't know if this will help me weed out any bad mods/cc.

Hello,
CC magic a a third party Launcher install, unintall program. It will not install Words and certain patterns. EA store stuff, since is encrypted, either; you will still have to install those via the EA LAuncher.
BAsically, if you have a bad mod that is causing this crashing it would be in your Mods package folder. take all those out and you can place back things gradually, like hair, skins, makeup and clothes that very seldom cause problems. Crashing would be caused by Core mods, scripting mods, sliders, slider hacks; in short any mod that will alter the way the game is played.
It is a general rule, that any time before applying a patch, installing an expansion, that your CC folders, specially MODS comes out. While they are out you should surf through the sites you got them from and see if there are updates available from the creators, some are very good at keeping up with patches and will have new ones available to the users within hours of the new patch been released. If you do not find an update, take it out and ask the developer if it will work with the new patch or not. Remember, these need to be updated. Good luck and plese let us know of your progress

Ok, I installed my mods/cc one by one and I found the problem to be with NRass. I had the most to updated patched one and it still cause my game to crash. So I just completely took it out. Now it works fine. A little jittery but no crashes. Hope this may help anyone else with the same issue. Thank you all for your help. I can now play my game with no problems. Oh also this fixed my issue with my launcher not wanting to install content as well. It also works perfect.

I had version NRass Master Controller V74 which did work before the Showtime EP came out. Then I upgrade to V82, and it doesn't work at all. Now neither of them work. I go back and the V82 is no longer there on the website. If you know of one that will actually work or is compatiable with the new patch we have I would be grateful if u let me know please. Also I would post the link where I got the one I was using, but I don't know if it against forum rules to posts other sites stuff.
