Registry Editor Problems
I'm trying to install The Sims 3 World Adventures using uTorrent. The first step is
" Type 'regedit' in the search box and press [ENTER]. Navigate to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Sims\The Sims 3 and double-click on 'SKU'. Change the shown
number to 2 and press 'OK'. "
I have no problem finding the regedit, no problem finding HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\, but there is no Sims folder.
I'm well aware of the other option, using Wow60432Node, and I did find my sims folder there. But there is no SKU in any of those folders.
Plus I've been told Electronic Arts shouldn't be in the name and those have Electronic Arts in the name.
Please help?

Re: Registry Editor Problems
Thank you! Just one more problem.
When I start going through the patch step, I get an error message saying "Invalid File Found" and it terminates.

Re: Registry Editor Problems
Well, you have to install the Patch 1.31 the first time (even if you installed it already), then you can install the 1.32 one.

Re: Registry Editor Problems
When your applying the Ultimate Fix (found here) https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t752-the-sims-3-ultimate-fix-should-fix-most-of-your-problems
When you get to step 11 follow this manual update guide word for word https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t1870-can-t-update-the-sims-3-to-v132-fix-manual-patch-updated
step 1 says install 1.31 patch if you have it installed reinstall it
EDIT: Whitepath you beat me by a few seconds lol

Re: Registry Editor Problems
Thank you guys, you have gotten me so much further along, and you're all so sweet!
Hopefully this is my LAST problem!
I'm to the point where I need to open 'Sims3EP01Setup.exe'.
But of course when I do, I get an error message saying
Unable to start game
Service Initialization failed (0x0175dcbb)
What have I done wrong / What can I do to fix this?

Re: Registry Editor Problems
Hello,
That code usually suggests a registry problem.
Before you started installing WA, did you uninstall your base game, and reinstall it?
Also, you have been pointed in the direction of the fix and manual patch by our helpers, but the fix isn't applied until after you've installed everything you intend to install.

Re: Registry Editor Problems
I was having issues with the registry, so that makes sense.
I'm positive I changed the correct file but, come to think of it, I might've, er, changed something else too. I can't remember the file though, I thought it was it, changed it to '2' and then realised it wasn't it.
So that could be it.
At this point, I'm going to uninstall my base game, Late Night, and undo everything I've done with WA and start fresh. I feel I better know what I'm doing now.
Thanks for all the support guys. <3

Re: Registry Editor Problems
Hello,
Don't forget to restart your PC after uninstallation and prior to reinstalling.
We'll be waiting for the result. Good luck!
