Sims 3 Pets problem.[SOLVED]

Sims 3 pets will completely open and everything but when you go to "Town Map" everything looking like you on a glacier. The entire map is white and you can not see any house previews or anything. but when you click on a lot or something its perfectly fine. No idea whats wrong, but it only happens with pets. And btw I'm new to all this, but this website is great!!!


I looked up the requirements, and it says I fail in the CPU speed part:

CPU Speed

Minimum: For XP 2.0 GHz Pentium 4 processor or equivalent; For Windows Vista and Windows 7 2.4 GHz Pentium 4 processor or equivalent

You Have: 2.0 GHz Doesnt make much sense as I do have a 2.0FHz processor... But lets make it clear that i run Sims 3 just fine with no problems.. Thanks so much guys.

No mods, Not very good with this stuff lol. Just trying to play the game naturally. (expansions and stuff packs) Its just seems like every time I do sims pets, the town map goes completely white!

And the drivers and stuff are all fine. CPU speed was the only thing that failed. Thank you(:

Hello,

Please go to Documents\Electronic Arts.
You'll see a folder called "The Sims 3". Drag & drop this folder to your Desktop and remove it from your Documents folder.
Now, restart the game and let us know the result.

Same thing but I get 2 pop-ups at the beginning when it first loads up.

First saying; "---WARNING: Unable to Identify Hardware.
The game is unable to identify your hardware. Please contact customer
support. You may need to adjust your graphics settings manually for
optional quality and performance.---"

Second saying; "---WARNING: unrecognized video card.
Your card was not found in our database. your graphics setting have been set as high as possible, but you may wish to reduce them if you are experiencing poor performance.


The last one I'm not too worried about as I'm pretty sure that's completely fixable since my graphics card is way up to par. So I'm praying its the second one causing the problem!

Yes the game with start, but in the edit town view it's all white. But if I click on a house it's perfectly fine. And I just tried uninstalling everything then reinstalling all the expansions. No mods or cc. Still same thing

FYI this is the problem I had, it's not a texture problem, it's rendering the Fog/atmosphere extremely thick.

Puroxicity, Are you by chance running Windows 8 Consumer Preview? If so,

Go to your base-game's install location (C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Bin) by default and right-click TS3W.exe > Properties.

Click the "Compatibility" tab and choose to run it in Windows 7 mode. I also did this to the Game Launcher but I don't think that part is necessary.

I did it last night and now im getting a stupid disk read error... like when I hit the play button when i first start up the sims, it will not let me play. I'm sorry guys.

I have reapplied it like 3 times, but ill try once more with re-downloading it. Do I need to get rid of the current mods to do it?

Just a thought, try opening the Sims directly by double-clicking the TS3W.exe file. If that works, you may need to put the launcher.exe in compatibility mode for windows 7 as well.

I am having the same issue, running Windows 7. Not major, as I can still play the game, but a nuisance. Any other ideas?
