Launcher won't open.[SOLVED]

I just downloaded Showtime, and did exactly what said in the Ultimate Fix guide. And now Whenever I try to open the launcher I get this message "There was an error during startup. Please see the Log for more details" What does this even means?

The only strange thing I see is that I had version 1.29, then downloaded and installed Showtime and while installing, a message appeared telling me that I couldn't update so the installation stopped. To try to fix that I open the "Showtime & Master Suite Stuff & Pets & Town Life Stuff & Generations" in the Ultimate Fix and copied the files to The Sims 3/Game/Bin. After that I could install Showtime, but did I mess up anything?

After your game updated to 1.33 re-download and re-apply the Ultimate Fix from this link : https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t752-the-sims-3-ultimate-fix-should-fix-most-of-your-problems

I updated using the manual patch, and I just re applied The Ultimate Fix and no results. Is it really necessary to launch the game via the launcher?

No, of course not. You could always start without the launcher.

Same exact problem here. Launcher or no Launcher, My game doesn't work. I get the same error as nick.

Hello,

Please do as following, exactly:

1. Completely uninstall The Sims 3 using Your Uninstaller! Pro, which can be downloaded from www.games4theworld.org .
2. Download CCleaner and run a normal and a registry scan.
3. Restart your PC.
4. Reinstall everything.
5. Download and apply this manual patch: https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t1870-can-t-update-the-sims-3-to-v133-fix-manual-patch-updated
6. Re-download and re-apply the latest version of the Ultimate Fix: https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t752-the-sims-3-ultimate-fix-should-fix-most-of-your-problems

Don't do anything else!
See if it works afterwards. I'll be waiting for the result. Good luck!

Well ... that means I will have to download everything all over again (I deleted them because I needed more space) but I guess that's the price for playing sims. While installing, is it okay if I update because the installers asks me so?

Oh yeaa that. Whenever I tried installing it said that the installation couldn't continue without updating the base game.

Yes, if the installer asks you, there's no harm in updating.

I got stuck in step 1. I downloades Your Unistaller! Pro and uninstalled all the expansion and stuff packs. I tried to uninstall The Sims 3 Base Game but couldn't, because the uninstaller said its state was corrupted. So "Auto fixed" it. Then the program told me it was fixed and now I can't find it in the options of programs to uninstall, nor in the advanced uninstall. How can I finish uninstalling it if I can't find it?

Well I've decided to take a new route, I had been using this: /torrent/6488608/The_Sims_3_Ultimate_Bundle_2011 : which installs the first 3 stuff and expansion packs. I figured this could be the problem so I'm just going to download games4theworld torrents and see how it works. Thanks a lot for all the help, really appreciate it! I'll be back in maybe 2 days once I've finished downloading.

Okay, I decided to manually uninstall the base game as explained in this site https://help.ea.com/uk/article/manually-uninstalling-the-sims-3

I should have the sims completely uninstalled, should I? Nevertheless the launcher icon is still in my desktop, and when I click on it I keep getting the "There was an error during startup. Please see the Log for more details" What should I do now? :/

Edit: I re installed base game, but felt that the first uninstall was not completely clean, so after succeeding re-installing, I re-uninstalled base game, hoping that now I can reinstall everything cleanly!

Edit again: After I installed base game, the launcher said I had an unofficial copy of the game. I applied the crack and when I proceeded to install World Adventures, the installer said there was an error in updating. I tried copying the files from "Base Game" folder in the ultimate fix to see if it helped in anything and now the launcher won't even open, because it "stopped working"

Such a bundle isn't recommended, these are often modified installers. It might've been a good idea at the time, but now this causes all kinds of problems like failure to patch, failure to install expansions and failure to crack. As you have noticed Wink

Hello,

You probably got the error because of the crack, here's a guide that will help you install the games. Did you restart your pc after re-uninstalling, if you didn't, you'll have to uninstall again and restart first before installing.
If you did restart, try the manual patch to update your game before installing the expansions.
Don't forget to download the latest fix, if you haven't done so already.

<3 Thanks so much ElDi and Admin! And Nick, I wish you luck C: All I did was download games4theworld's version of the Sims 3 and it's expansions (excluding a couple) installed them, put in the Ultimate Fix, and poof it worked Smile

Success! I already installed every expansion or stuff pack and it all works fine! Thanks a lot, guys. I just restored my old save files and a messagge showed up saying that "Sims 3" stopped working, but I'm sure that's because of an outdated mod or CC, so I've got that. thanks again!
