Launcher wont open.[SOLVED]

well i opened my launcher to play the game and it asked for a new game update (im guessing because of sims 3 seasons comming out soon) so i clicked ok to update and after updating now my launcher will not open, i click on it and nothing happens? i tried opening it from the sims 3 files in my computer to open it from there instead of the desk top but it does not work eather? issue is ive had this same problem with firefox in the past and same with a program from google, not sure if its a computer problem or what?? and with those programs ive uninstalled and reinstalled and it doesnt fix it so worried that it will be the same for my sims game if i were to uninstall it i dont think that would work...not sure what to do.
