Sims Running really slow with fast machine
Hello, Iv'e downloaded every sims 3 disc from you. i just downloaded and installed showtime and now the game runs very slowly.
I get lag all the time, textures take ages to load and some animations dont work. im just wondering what could be the problem?
I have a powerful machine CPU: intel i7 3.07ghz
GPU: asus 560ti DUII TOP
RAM: 6GB
COOLING: Coolit Vantage
I can't understand why theres so much of an issue, im not even playing the game at full spec so not only does it not run smooth but it doesnt look good either. I can play games like the withcer 2 and skyrim with no issues at all. is it because its a torrent?
please help, thank you
P.S when the games is loading up my computer makes a crazy screeching sound and im not sure why?

Hello,
It's not because it's a torrent.
There are issues with the last few patches though, and it could be caused by mods/CC, do you have any?
Not sure about the "screeching" noise.

yes i do have MODS installed, whats CC? if i was to uninstall all mods could that help a lot?
I dont want to lose my downloaded objects such as the rockwall and crystal ball etc. when you mean patches do you mean on EA's end?
what would be you're best suggestion?
thank you

Hello,
CC is custom content, content for your game not created by EA.
Mods alter the game in some way, some mods more than others.
What I'd suggest for now, is to disable your mods by dragging the mods folder to your desktop, now try your game and see if it makes any difference. If it does, some of your mods might be incompatible with your current game version.

Re: Sims Running really slow with fast machine
thanks for your help, i have removed both mods and CC and it has increased the speed of the game quite a lot but it's still not running that well either. could this be due to the new patches? could it really have such a drastic effect on how the game runs?

Hi there,JsM20 wrote:P.S when the games is loading up my computer makes a crazy screeching sound and im not sure why?
I get that sound when I have the Minecraft window open. Whenever I minimize or close it, the sound disappears.
I think it's the GPU making that sound.

Hello,
I don't think there's any new information about an upcoming patch for The Sims 3, as far as I know.
