Games running slow

Hello, I'd like to ask something. Are lags in my Sims 3 caused by my Intel HD Core Series graphics card? Any of you have the same problem?

Is there any way to fix this bcause I don't really have the $$ to buy a new graphic card like NVIDIA or that radeon sh!t.

I'm using HP ProBook 4420s
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i3 CPU M 330 @2.13GHz
Graphics: Intel (R) HD Graphics
Available graphics memory: 1303MB
Windows 7 Ultimate
