The sims 3 pets: won't update. - solved

When i go to install my download of the sims 3 pets it come up with the message 'update of the sims 3 failed, setup is unable to continue.' Is there anything i can do to stop this? Help would be great. Thanks.

I downloaded both of these and another message came up now saying 'the setup has detected that no version of the sims 3 is installed'. Any ideas? thanks.

What can you tell us about it, when you installed the base game, was it preinstalled, or pre cracked, or did you have to mount it or go through setup at all?

It needed installing and went through a setup it has no launcher and didn't need a patch or cracking. I had to burn it onto cd's. I hope this is helpful. Sorry if it's not.

no, it was quite a while since i got it. Is there a way i could download it from somewhere else and then this expansion would work?

Well, at this point I recommend you remove the version you have installed now (don't forget to backup your savegames) and then install our version of the base game, which you can download from www.games4theworld.org .
