The Sims 1 random crash

I searched the forums but didn't find anything focusing on my specific problem. When I first downloaded The Sims 1 Complete Collection I did not have this random crash problem but starting on the second or third day the program just shuts itself off. Nothing else on my computer is acting up so I am inclined to think it is something with The Sims program. It has gotten to where the program shuts down after about 10-15 minutes of game play. I am running Windows 7 on a new laptop, I don't have any of the other Sims games on here. Is there anything that may help this issue? Thanks you in advance.

Since it's The Sims 1 I did not have all of the .exe files specified in the DEP fix, but I did put in the .exe file I could find. I am going to try this, and then the compatibility fix if need be so I know which solution fixed the problem. Then I'll post back to let you know how it worked. Thank you very much for your time.
