Sims 3 Prom?

So, I read about generations a lot. I have it installed, and my teen sim just made a wish to attend prom. The only problem is, I have never had prom show up at all. When I cheated and made my teens grow up, no prom invite. When they just grew up on their time, still no prom. Even when they didn't age and were like halfway teens, no prom. Do I need to buy generations in order to have prom? The downloaded version of course I got from you guys, has everything but that. I can get married, buy wedding cakes, have new hairstyles & clothes, etc. So I was just a bit curious, well my sims go to prom on generations, or do I need to buy it to make them go to prom? Thanks in advance!

Hello,
Your teenagers should be able to go to prom. But I don't think it works if you have them grow up prematurely. Try to have your sim ask someone, or get asked to go to prom right before their last day of school before growing up.

Sorry to report back so late! I was doing a bunch of stuff with the family for mother's day 
so. *By The way Lady, I tried to ask someone, he had a girlfriend but no option ever showed up??* & I changed it to 5 days, started a new town, and had a teenager already and just selected a neighborhood. On day 3, I got a pop up saying, 'Cruz is going to graduate soon!' or something like that. And he aged up..no prom, no nothing. I played for a day after he aged and nothing.. I don't know what's wrong. But, it's fine. I like children better than teens. Thanks anyway guys!

Ok as long as it's not a problem for you.
I did want to ask if you're using one of the default EA school buildings, or a custom one. Since I read yesterday that "prom" doesn't seem to work with custom schools.

I don't believe I am.. I don't even know how to do custom schools, lol. It's fine though. I honestly don't like the teenage stage so. I had another question.. I can't find the download for the deep fryer and ice cream machine, but I have the fix and it doesn't show up when I play the game. How and where would I get that??
