Sims Medival wont work due to .net framework!

It says that i needed to get .Net Framework 4 but when i downloaded it, it said that i had a problem

If you cant see it, it says ".Net Framework 4 has not been installed because
HRESULR 0xc8000222"

Please help me out here!

Nope. While installing Medival, it tried downloading this for me. However, it didn't work. So I tried to install it manually but it didnt work.

Try updating your Windows to the latest version, installing all Windows Updates, including the optional one(s). Be sure to restart your PC after each set of updates and at the end.

Apparently, it's not allowing me to update. Either my computer is already at its latest version or there is something wrong when i click check for updates on the Windows update panel. I really want to play the game badly

You click to search for new updates and then what?

It says that it cant check for updates. I've been restarting my computer for 3 times hoping that it would work.
