Sims 3 won't load or install sims3packs.[SOLVED]

Hi there!

Recently I've downloaded some sims3packs and packages from various creators on the web.
When I had to install some of the sims3packs today, it wouldn't work. The launcher works just fine, but when I have to install it, I keep getting a 'program won't respond' message and the same happens, when I try to load the Sims 3 to play.
I've combined some of my packages to bigger ones, so I won't have as many & have combined some of my big packages to single ones, too.
I don't know if that would matter?
Before, sims3packs have always worked, so I honestly don't know what I might have done wrong. Or if it have smth to do with the packs?
I also tried loading Sims 3 from the TS3W, but I again got the 'program won't respond' message and had to close it down.

Besides that, I've had problems while playing - especially in Build Mode. I had to place a rug (dl'ed from a trusted site) & I couldn't change it to another build-in colour. When I then had to place a chair and hovered over it, to see what other colours it had, I got the window from the rugs instead.

Do all these problems only occur after adding the extra contents?

Yeah, it has. I'm pretty sure it has smth to do with some of the mods, I've added, but it has only started occuring yesterday (the rug problem)
And I first added new content today, which is why it seems rather strange to me.

Edit: well, I removed all my packages & hacks and now I can load sims3packs.
Edit2: I figured out what I did wrong with the loading and sims3packs - apparently, silly me, added packages which could only be used in sims2. I didn't read well enough. ^^;
