installed windows 7 ultimate without disk...questions, need answers

ok i upgraded from vista to 7. but what do i do about updates? i have it so it won't just download them. i get to chose. but how do i do it with out messing up my system. saw something on here about an activator?? but having trouble finding it. please help. thanks.

Did you use any of the Activators, as described in the instructions? Or just upgraded your PC without the activation?

i am not sure. the link is from the pirate bay. since i posted i did update but only certain ones, and in my systems it says i have a genuine windows 7, even has a product key? sorry if i am not being specific, this is my first time doing this with an OS.

From my personal experience with windows 7 ultimate, if you used a serial code to activate then it will be discovered upon update. If you used an activator, you can update safely as if it was really genuine copy.
I'm not sure at all if that's the case with all copies and codes or it was just with me

If it was, and you used the included Activator, you can safely use all updates and just use the system like an original copy.
