Graphics in the game.[SOLVED]

So a few months ago (in January 
) the graphics in the game were weird once I updated it on the Dell website. I wasn't able it get any shadows or pond reflections in the game, so I wanted to update it. Apparently, I updated the old one. I tried to get the good version I used to have, but it was nowhere to be found. When I started the game, my performance in the game was really strange. It turned out "spotty" it you know what I mean. So is there any way I can fix this issue? If it's getting a new computer... that won't happen :l. Maybe some update that can help?

Hello,
Indeed, let's update first. Please go to Computer and click on the Add or remove program tab.
Now, search for any Dell graphic drivers and remove them. Your PC's resolution may look messed up, but we'll fix that.
Now, go to this website: http://www.dell.com/support/drivers/us/en/19/DriversHome/NeedProductSelection
And navigate as follows:

Well I didn't update it yet, I'm kinda scared . But, I did find the video thingy on the dell website. I'll attach the pic.

Hello,
Good, you removed the old one?
If you removed the old one, restarted your PC, download and install the version from the screenshot. Don't forget to restart your PC after installing the driver too.

But the thing is, I've already installed this version of the driver a few months ago. Are you sure I should do it again?

Wait a sec... I went to Device Manager and it said that the version for the video card I have is "7.15.10.1472". In the Dell Website , that version is older. I think I have the latest version of the card... I'm stupid -.-' So I don't think I need to update. So do you think I should download the Sims 3 now?

I deleted the game a few months ago. I thought that my card still had the version I downloaded (the one that doesn't work with my game) on the website. All along, I had the latest one. So do you think it's gonna be ok?

So I'm waiting for it to install, I'm just wondering... say that I wanna download the expansion packs another time, can I still put the crack (TS3.exe), in the base game folder?

How about the in game graphics settings, have you tried tweaking?
Are you using only the base at this time? You can use the crack that came with the base game, but you can't patch until you install one of the newer expansions.
It's possible that patching the game to version 1.34, (or 1.36, once the fix comes out) helps with the graphics issues. I believe patches have fixed that kind of compatibility issues before with certain graphicscards.
You'll need at least one of the following expansions: Katy Perry Sweet treats, Showtime, Master Suite Stuff, Pets, Town Life Stuff or Generations to use the fix. If you have one of those, I'd recommend trying the manual patch for 1.34.

Well I put the Edge smoothing at a high level, same for the visual effects, and that's it. And thanks for the info!

Ik I need to skip step 11 in the fix, but after getting the fix (step 3), do we still need to put the crack in for each expansion/stuff pack?

No, just the files from the #crack folder at the very end of your installation process.
I'd recommend starting with the manual patch first, that saves you the trouble of patching your game during the installation of your packs.

I just did everything, I installed the packs and now something come up. It says please insert disk, however I press try again and it worked. I'm just curious but is there any way to remove that notification?

No I'm just glad to hear that it works properly now!
It's curious that you'd get a no disc error but that you can load the game. That error should stop coming up if you apply that crack from the fix.
