Sims Medieval Issues Empty Sims Medieval Issues

Post by Guest Fri 22 Jun 2012, 04:08

I downloaded the Sims Medieval from your downloads page. I read the ultimate fix for this.

Step three says to "3. Now, open the game’s Launcher and click on “Updates” in the left-menu. When opened, press on “Refresh” to search for new updates and update the game to the latest version available."

That's where I am running in to the problem.
After the instillation and completing step 2, I click the launcher, the icon pops up in my task bar, but then it just vanishes.
So, I can't open the game.

Any ideas on what I did wrong?

Hello,

It's probably nothing you did wrong.
Have you already installed the Pirates&Nobles expansionpack? The fix for Medieval requires the expansion, and who knows the launcher might work after the expansion is installed. But if it doesn't, it's still no problem. You don't need the launcher to update or play.

Not at the moment. This is the second attempt, I thought I would try it without it and see if it worked.

Installing now.

Installed, does the same thing.

Hello,

So you still can't open the launcher?
That's no problem, you can always start the game from the game\bin using TSM.exe. You'll bypass the launcher that way.
But your first priority now should be to get your game patched to the latest version and put the crack from the fix.
If you go to your install directory, and find the game\bin (of the base game) see if you can find a textfile there called SKU, that can also tell you your current game version. If it's not 2.0.113.xx, you can download the patch here to use during the application of the fix, in stead of opening the launcher. If it's already at that patch level, all you have to do is copy the crack to the base game\bin and overwrite what's already there.

Ok so I followed the fix, and installed the update. I moved the crack, and overrote the files.

I went to click on the launcher, did the same thing. So I found the TSM application when I go to click it I get an error msg.

"The Dynamic Library "rld.dll" Failed to load please confirm that:
1,) The File was copied over the same folder as the cracked executable.
2.) The antivirus software is not false-detecting the file."

Sorry for the trouble.

Hello,

It's possible that your antivirus is moving it to the vault, or deleting it. You'll just have to add it to the exceptions.

I tried adding an exception, and disabling avast. still won't work.

I screwed something up, I did everything right, I'm fairly certain.

Hello,

That error sounds familiar. Could you please post a screenshot of the folder you copied the crack from the Fix to?

I can't at the moment, but it's:
C drive < Programfiles(x86)< Electronic Arts< The Sims Medieval< Game < Bin

If you really need a screenshot, I'll use my other computer.

Appreciate the help.

Hello,

Are you sure it's the files from the #crack folder in the fix you copied?

Yes, I am.
Can you tell me exactly what I am supposed to do?
I might just have to try again.
I read the fix, updated it. Bypassed the launcher> I want to say I did everything correctly, but I obviously didn't haha.
