slow saving
this sounds impossible and i have high doubt it even exist, but is there a way to speed up the saving process? i swear it takes forever to save.
loading is slow itself, but it has began to load faster with the latest updates and expansion. atleast now it goes straight to the loading screen instead of the intro.. but saving is still very very slow. :/

Re: slow saving
Hello,
The length of the saving process largely depends on the size of the world you're playing. The more lots and sims, the longer it takes.

Re: slow saving
oh. ok thanks eldi... no wonder, i have alot of lots lol.
it used to be small because i didn't know how to be able to have horse race/acrobat/etc.. in other towns so i had several different towns and now i just have one huge one.

Hello,
Yes that explains a lot.
I used to plan some kind of activity for the saving process. Like, grab a sandwich, make coffee or something like that. It took up to 10 minutes to save a regular Sunset Valley
I'm playing a very small world now though with 15-20 lots and I believe 12 families. Needless to say the speediness of the saving process surprised me

Re: slow saving
it seems. the "save and quit" function doesn't work for me. but regular save itself works just fine. yea it is like 5-10min. i usually try to window out and do something while i wait.
think i'm about done with exploring the game, now its just time to actually play.
i might just go with starlight shore. its not big per say to fit 64x64 lots but its nice. i like the greenness vs the brownness and roads in the other areas.

Hello,
It's best not to save&quit anyway. If anything goes wrong while you're saving, your savegame is lost and save&quit has a higher occurrence of errors.
