The sims 3 World Adventures Install problem

Hi,

I downloaded and installed the sims 3 from this site and now I want to install the World Adventure one.
But at step 3, when I run the "sims3patch.exe" I get a window with all of these weird letters. It looks a bit like this:

"éúíéúûââòòéúíéúûââòò" etc.

At first I ignored it and thought it was ok so I just changed that "C:\Program Files (x86)\Sims 3" to "C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\De Sims 3" but then when it was almost done it gave an error with the same weird letters so I didn't know what was wrong...

Can you please help me with this? I don't know what I'm doing wrong because I did step 1 en 2 exactly as it said.

EDIT!!
Never mind about step 3. I think it worked.

But now I have a slight problem with step 4...
I have to copy ALL files into the "C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Game\Bin" but when I do that it wants to ADD the bin folder with the existing bin... Is that right? or do I have to delete the existing one and then copy the new one?

I'm so sorry to bother you guys with this... I'm a noob at these kind of things

Allright. I tried installing WA but now it keeps giving me an error when I want to Install it. First it told me to update the sims 3 game. I clicked yes and then it gave me a window saying there was an error updating the game... Then I did everything over again and instead of clicking yes I clicked no. But then I can't continue installing WA....
What to do?
